Last summer, the girls and I were able to be part of a group, of woman (and a man) at our church who got together to sew dresses and tote bags for girls in Kenya. Our church is partnering with World Vision to build a girls boarding school to save these girls from early marriage and other such cultural practices. A team was going to Africa to deliver the dresses and attend the dedication of this new school.

I even took some to California and got Shannon to help during our Cousin Craft Camp.

Each dress had two pockets with a scripture written in the linings. One in English and one in Swahili.

Each girl looks pleased with her special gift.
Notice the notecards in their hands with our picture and note from us to them.

This is so wonderful! I'm glad that you were able to be a part of such a special outreach. How exciting that you got pictures of the girls getting your dresses!!
